  1. Rice: Rice is one of the staple food crops in Telangana. The state’s fertile lands and irrigation facilities make it suitable for rice cultivation. Paddy is grown in both the Kharif (monsoon) and Rabi (winter) seasons.

  2. Cotton: Telangana is one of the significant cotton-producing states in India. Cotton is a cash crop that contributes significantly to the state’s economy.

  3. Red Gram (Pigeon Pea): Red gram is an important pulse crop grown in Telangana. It is widely used in traditional cuisine and is an essential source of protein for the population.

  4. Maize: Maize is a major cereal crop grown in the state. It is used for both human consumption and as animal feed.

  5. Groundnut (Peanut): Groundnut is another important oilseed crop cultivated in Telangana. It is used for oil extraction and as a snack.

  6. Sorghum (Jowar) and Pearl Millet (Bajra): These coarse grains are grown in semi-arid regions of Telangana and are staple foods for some communities.

  7. Soybean: Soybean cultivation is also gaining popularity in some areas of Telangana due to its high protein content and various industrial uses.

  8. Chilies and Turmeric: Telangana is known for its production of spices, especially chilies and turmeric.

  9. Mangoes: Mango orchards are widespread in certain regions of the state, and Telangana produces a significant quantity of mangoes during the fruiting season.
