Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s security has been tightened up after the actor complained about receiving death threats.

The Maharashtra government has raised the Jawan actor’s security level to Y+. According to a local news station, the increased protection means that SRK will now be accompanied by six armed commandos around the clock.

He will also be accompanied by four police officers and a traffic clearance truck.

Until now, the actor has been accompanied by two armed security guards.

According to police, Shah Rukh Khan recently informed the Maharashtra government of the threats he was receiving following the release of his flicks Pathaan and Jawan. The government responded by increasing SRK’s security.

According to reports, the Maharashtra government sent an official communique to senior police officers and several departments, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), urging all unit commanders to provide Y+ level protection in light of the recent and probable danger against Shah Rukh Khan. The actor will foot the bill for the additional security until the high-level committee makes a decision at the next meeting.

“This security provision is applicable during his visits, engagements, and residence within your jurisdiction, aimed at preventing any unfortunate incidents,” the report went on to say.

Following the controversy over the Besharam Rang song earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan got death threats from Paramhans Acharya, a seer based in Ayodhya, a city in Uttar Pradesh, located in northern India.

Not only that, but the actor was back in the spotlight in August after protests outside his Mannat home. The protests were held in response to celebrities who promoted online gaming apps for “misguiding the younger generation,” according to Indian media.

Previously, the state authorities beefed up actor Salman Khan’s security following death threats from mobster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has had a fantastic box office year, with back-to-back hits Pathaan and Jawan. His most recent film, Jawan, has already grossed Rs11,03.27 Crore at the global box office.

Following that, Shah Rukh Khan will appear in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, alongside Taapsee Pannu. But first, Shah Rukh Khan will reprise his role as Pathaan in Tiger 3, a film starring Salman Khan.
