Men's T20 World Cup venues are announced by the ICC

Geoff Allardice, the chief executive of the ICC, was excited to announce the locations for the largest T20 World Cup.

The men’s T20 World Cup will take place in Dallas, Florida, and New York in 2019, the cricket world’s governing body announced on Wednesday.

Cricket is trying to enter a new market, thus for the first time ever, the United States will host a major international event. It will co-host the competition alongside the West Indies from June 4 to 30.

The construction of a 34,000-seat stadium in Eisenhower area, a specially designed sports and events area in Nassau County, New York, has been agreed upon, according to the International Cricket Council, pending the granting of the necessary permit next month.

The Grand Prairie, Texas, and Broward County, Florida, venues will be enlarged to accommodate the 20-team competition by adding media, premium hospitality, and seating sections. This will make the T20 World Cup the largest one ever.

According to ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice, “the USA is a strategically important market, and these venues give us an excellent opportunity to make a statement in the world’s largest sport market.”

Teams from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, New York, and Washington—four of which are owned by clubs in the Indian Premier League—participated in the inaugural Major League Cricket competition this year in the United States. Many of the games were held in Grand Prairie.

Recent T20 matches between India and the West Indies were also held in Florida at Lauderhill’s Central Broward Stadium.
